Cover Credits: It is the intention of CHARIS to feature the work of contemporary Christian artists. This issue features the work of Veronica Escudero who characterizes her paintings as Contemporary Sacred Art, believing that the Holy Spirit can use her artistic abilities to paint sacred works of art. The paintings depicting Jesus on the cross are intended to portray the sin that Jesus bore when he died for us. "In order for our sins to have been forgiven, Jesus had to die on the cross." Ms. Escudero's website is: www.escuderoart.com.

Dialogue

The CHARIS Institute, Inc., affiliated with Wisconsin Lutheran College, exists to provide a platform for the study and discussion of issues facing the Christian Church. It seeks to provide forums where scholars from the College, the Church, and the academic community can investigate issues of current concern to the Church and the world. It also exists to disseminate the products of such research and investigation to the College's larger communities. Through all these activities, CHARIS will generally seek to provide a means by which the College can contribute in distinctively Lutheran Christian academic ways to the evangelical mission of the Church.
